A Pakistani contingent of ten, led by Brig Muhammad Ahmed Qureshi, Commandant MCJ, participated in the Youth Exchange Program (YEP 2023) in Jordan from July 16th to July 23rd, 2023. This marked the first visit of a Military Colleges contingent to Jordan, with an invitation extended by the Jordan Armed Forces.

During their visit, the Pakistani contingent engaged in various activities, including meetings with important dignitaries, witnessing different training activities, and participating in adventure and excursion activities. They received a warm welcome at Queen Alia Airport in Amman from Mu’tah University Mil Wing representatives. Both Mu’tah University Mil Wing and the Jordan Armed Forces – Arab Army made exceptional arrangements to ensure the success of this event.

The primary objective of the visit was to gain insights into the rigorous training and education programs offered by the academy. They also aimed to understand the facilities and infrastructure and interact with faculty, staff, and cadets to gather firsthand information about their experiences.

The itinerary included visits to Mu’tah University, Mil Science College and Briefing, College of Police Sciences, Khalid-Bin-Waleed & Zaid-Bin-Haritha Battalion, Royal Mil College, and Princes Muna College of Nursing. Additionally, the contingent explored historical sites such as Jerash City, the Dead Sea, Petra City, Kerak Castle, Maqamat-e-Sahaba, Cave Ashab-e-Kahaf, Roman Amphitheater, Downtown Amman, and engaged in shopping activities. They also observed and participated in various military training activities, including physical fitness exercises, weapon handling, rifle drills, firing range simulations, and sports events with cadets.

The visit concluded with a farewell meeting with Brig Gen Ahmed Salem Al-Sarhan, Commandant Military Science College, who expressed his gratitude for the visit and highlighted the importance of such exchange programs for youth. Souvenirs were presented to all visiting cadets, and a group photo was taken. The visit culminated with a lunch hosted by Mu’tah University Mil Wing at the Officers’ Mess on July 22nd, 2023, attended by Col Abdul Karim Muhammad Al-Sabila, Deputy Commandant, Mil Science College, and other officers.

This visit provided an excellent opportunity for the Pakistani contingent to participate in YEP-2023 organized by HQ, JAF. It successfully promoted awareness among youth and fostered military-to-military contacts between the two Muslim countries. Such visits and exchange programs will contribute to strengthening relations between both nations and harnessing mutual goodwill and strategic advantages for Pakistan in the future.
