The Swimming Gala commenced on August 30th, 2023. Commandant Brig Ahmed Qureshi graced the event with his presence, and DG SPD was invited as the chief guest for the event. The event comprised the following races: 50 meters breaststroke, 50 meters backstroke, 50 meters freestyle, 50 meters butterfly, 100 meters freestyle, Medley relay race (4×50 meters), and Freestyle relay race (4×50 meters). Each individual event allowed one cadet from each house to participate, with a maximum of two individual events per participant. Relay races involved four participants and were held on competitive grounds, not counting as individual events for the swimmers.
Swimming holds prominence as it is a vital sport that covers various domains of physical fitness. Inter-house swimming competitions at Military College Jhelum commenced on August 30th, 2023, and concluded on September 1st, 2023. This event is significant as it showcases the talents and skills of the cadets in different swimming disciplines, including butterfly, breaststroke, backstroke, and freestyle. It’s an integral part of the college’s sports activities, providing an opportunity for cadets to demonstrate their aquatic abilities.
These competitions promote teamwork, physical fitness, and school spirit in a fun way. Participants compete in various swimming strokes and distances, earning points for their respective houses or teams. Such events encourage friendly rivalry and add excitement to school and community life.
The event was a display of sheer enthusiasm and energy among competitors. The Chief Guest was Commandant Military College Jhelum, Brig Muhammad Ahmad Qureshi. Cadets from all houses participated in different events.
